Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data Sportingo collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It applies to the Sportingo app and the sportingo.in website, operated by Sparkstream Technologies LLP ("Sparkstream", "we", "us"), and to everyone who uses them: athletes, parents and guardians managing a minor's account, and coaches.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo. A coach's profile also includes what they add themselves: a biography, credentials, and the sports and services they offer.
• Booking, payment and session information. The sessions you book, the coach you book with, the price and any platform fee, and the status of each payment. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we store the amount and Razorpay's order, payment and refund references, never your card or bank account number.
• Coaching records. Scores, written feedback and any photo, video or voice note a coach attaches to a session, filed against the athlete it belongs to.
• Device and usage information. Device type, operating system, app version, and how you use the app, collected to keep it working and to diagnose problems.
• Push notification tokens. To deliver notifications about your sessions, Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) assigns your device a token, which we use only to send you those notifications.

3. Why we collect it

To create and run your account, connect you with a coach, process bookings and payments, keep a record of sessions and feedback, send you notifications about your own bookings, respond to support requests, and keep the app secure. We do not use your data to show you advertising, and we do not build a behavioural profile of any athlete under 18.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with the processors that run Sportingo on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purpose stated:

• Google, to sign you in.
• Razorpay, to process payments and payouts.
• Apple and Google, to deliver push notifications through their own services.

A coach sees the booking, payment status and feedback history of the athletes who book with them. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else for advertising or marketing.

5. How long we keep it

Account, booking and coaching records are kept while your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to erase your data, we complete that within 30 days, except for what we are required to keep by law: payment and invoice records are kept for the period Indian tax law requires, currently up to 72 months under the CGST Act. Security logs are kept for up to a year, in line with CERT-In's directions, and are never used for anything beyond detecting and investigating security incidents.

6. Your rights under the DPDPA

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to correct, complete or erase your personal data. Deletion is available from within the app itself; if you would rather not use that, write to support@sportingo.in. We respond to a grievance within 90 days, and usually much sooner.

For an athlete under 18, the parent or guardian who manages the account exercises these rights on the athlete's behalf, including the right to erasure. Closing a guardian's own account does not delete the athlete's records; the guardian chooses separately what happens to the athlete's data when they do.

7. Children's privacy

An athlete under 18 trains through a parent or guardian account, and the guardian gives the consent the DPDPA requires for that athlete's data. We do not track an athlete's behaviour across other apps or sites, and we do not use a minor's data or media for anything beyond running their own coaching: not advertising, and not training any AI model. A guardian can review, download or delete anything recorded about their athlete at any time from the app.

8. Security

Payments run entirely through Razorpay's hosted checkout; Sportingo never receives or stores your card or bank details. Access to coaching records and media is limited to the athlete, their guardian where one applies, and the coach they trained with.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Sportingo changes. An updated version is posted here with a new last updated date, and we will tell you in the app if a change affects how we use data you have already given us.
